We’re headlining the 9:30 Club in DC on Thursday July 3rd to release our new studio album, ‘Psychology’!! After 2+ years of hard work, we’re incredibly humbled and honored to finally put it in your hands at such a historic venue!! Everyone should have off Friday for Independence Day, so the Flock better be ready to kick off this three-day weekend in true American style! Openers and more info coming soon, TOO EXCITED!!!
What an amazing week! Flew by. So many highlights… Our super jam with COPE at Skipper’s in Tampa featuring nearly all of both bands… Playing to more HD cameras than people at the incredible AURA studios in Boca Raton… Finally playing to Greg’s and Dan’s grandparents… Opening with “Couldn’t We All” on the wrong instruments for April Fools in Gainesville (and we got ’em good!!)… Sit-ins by Jeff and Jim from The Heavy Pets, Chris from Displace and Sam from Grooveshark… Using actual aloe plants on our epic sunburns… Stumbling on a bird eating a lizard… Stumbling on a turtle laying 8-9 eggs in nature (it’s the circle of life!!)… Ronny high-fiving a spider monkey at the zoo… Re-meeting everyone from AURA in their respective towns… It’s been a beautiful and busy week!! With full hearts and a new tan, we begin our journey home tonight, kicking off four sweet shows that culminates at Gypsy Sally’s in DC. See you tonight at The Pour House in Charleston, SC, we hear it’s an awesome town!!
We’ve been soaking in the Floridian sun this week, some of us a little too much!! (see Greg’s underknees…) Four shows in the books and they’ve all been great!! Most impressive is the people (as always), taking such good care of us and having a great time doing it!! We’ve seen a lot of AURA friends at our shows, and even some festi-family from VA and MD!! Tonight’s show at Skipper’s with Cope in Tampa promises to be epic. We’ve heard nothing but rave reviews of the venue… outdoor stage… lots of oak trees… Cope’s hometown… and Greg’s and Dan’s families are in town!! We’ll report back, hope everyone’s smiley out there!!
Through thick and thin, it’s always the people that keeps us smiling. The Carolinas were great to us and we are so thankful to be leading our lives around so much support. Thank you Greenville, Asheville, Boone, Greensboro and Raleigh for an incredible week!! We’re taking this fuzzy feeling to FLORIDA today, keep taking care of each other and we’ll see you in Gainesville 4/1!!
Ten shows in Colorado have never gone by so fast!! From hiking to skiing to hot-tubbing to “shopping” to making new friends and playing new songs, what an incredible trip it has been! We capped off the CO run in true Flockin’ style with a packed Fox Theater in Boulder, sending us on our way back to Baltimore in supreme spirits! And while we’ll miss CO, tour’s not over by any means!! We’re so incredibly pumped for our next four shows in some of our favorite towns in the country: Wed: Evansville, IN; Thurs: Blacksburg, VA; Fri: Richmond, VA; Sat: Baltimore, MD! Then we begin our tour to Florida!! Sounds good to us…
Colorado Rocks!! In the middle of three straight off-days, we’re happy birds!! Jeremy, Dan and Greg hit the slopes in Winter Park on Tuesday, while Ben and Ronny explored Denver! Jeremy was back at it in Vail today, Dan and Greg worked on some new song ideas, and Ben and Ronny got free massages!! Colorado is a beautiful state… of mind!! Might have to hit The Motet’s CD release party in Telluride on Wednesday night at Fly Me to the Moon Saloon, where we’ll be playing on Thursday and Friday!! Sounds terrible, right?? THE PIGEONS LOVE COLORADO!!
It’s here!! We’re so proud of the lineup for the fifth annual Domefest (listed below) at Sunshine Daydream Memorial Park in beautiful Terra Alta, WV on May 30-31!! Last night’s show in Avon, CO was SO high energy, and we’re ready build that flame over the next two weeks out here!! Agave is a great venue, hope to be back there next time we’re in the mountains! Off to watch some snowboarders fly high at the US Open in Vail before heading to three20south in Breckenridge tonight!! We’re not complainers…
The last two shows were ALIVE!! Winchester and Morgantown really set a HIGH tone for this tour and we are rip-roarin’ and ready for Colorado! In the meantime, Columbus and Indy are about to get FLOCKED HARD!!! 🙂
The rumors are true… AURA Music Festival is amazing and the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park is simply breathtaking… drooping Spanish Moss, lit up swans reflecting on the lake, and a Floridian music community that we’d LOVE to get used to!! Fortunately, we’re back in the Sunshine State April 1-7 to reunite with our Funky Floridian Flock, check the dates and rehash the fun!! In the meantime, we’re back in the Northeast this week with Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band for three shows (plus one on our own!). Come play!!
